Description
Abstract:

The search for new phenomena at high-energy colliders requires precise theoretical predictions of various processes. Precise calculations in perturbative QCD often suffer from the presence of large logarithmic corrections, which need to be resummed to all orders with factorization theorems. However, endpoint singularities are encountered in factorization of many exclusive QCD processes, hinting at a scale violation of simple scale separation. In this talk, I will present the first renormalized factorization theorem with endpoint divergences in soft-collinear effective theory. As an example, I will discuss the factorization and large-logarithm resummation for the b-quark induced Higgs-to-diphoton decay.
