ttWML and ttHML analyses status10m
Speaker:
Nihal BRAHIMI(Tsung-Dao Lee Institute & Shanghai Jiao Tong University)
ttWML analysis status:
Currently targeting the Higgs 2022 conference for a public result (7-11 of November)
We had the top approval meeting last Thursday (https://indico.cern.ch/event/1202155/#10-top-wg-approval-differentia) and the analysis was overall well received.
We have a list of action items following the meeting that need to be addressed. Targeting the end of this week/begining of next week to finalize them.
We aim to have an unblinding approval during next week once the INT note is updated with results from action items. No dedicated meeting required.
ttHML analysis status:
Most of the efforts focussed on defining MVA discriminants to be used in the 0-tau channels.
Working closely with Jialin to come up with a good discriminant using DNN. Multiple configurations tested so far. Main bottleneck is the ttW CR and ttH SR definitions. Large anti-correlation (70%) observed between NF(ttH) and NF(ttW) which is not desirable (updates from Jialin today, rehearsal for analysis meeting later today).
Currently preparing config to combine candidate SRs and fakes CRs from ttWML analysis as a proof of principle.
We will have a ttHML status report during the October ATLAS week (October 11th).
