Description

Abstract

In the past two decades, new phenomena around Y(2175), Y(4260) and Y(10860) were reported by BaBar, Belle, and BESIII, which provides an excellent opportunity for us to carry out the study on vector quarkonium physics. In this talk, I will introduce our research progress on hidden-bottom decays of higher bottomonia; We will introduce a unified solution to the Y problem; How to understand the inconsistency of resonance parameters of many 2 GeV structures found in the BESIII experiment will be introduced in this talk.

Biography:

Liu Xiang, professor of Lanzhou University, dean of the School of Physical Science and Technology, mainly engaged in hadron physics research. From 2000 to 2006, he studied theoretical physics at Nankai University, and obtained a master's degree and a doctorate degree successively. His doctoral dissertation was selected as one of the "100 National Excellent Doctoral Dissertations" in 2008 by the Ministry of Education and the Academic Committee of the State Council. From 2006 to 2008, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Institute of Theoretical Physics, School of Physics, Peking University. During this period, he won the first prize of the 4th "Chenguang Cup" Youth Excellent Paper Award of the High Energy Physics Society. Then he was funded by the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation (FCT) to conduct research in particle physics at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Currently, he has published more than 280 research papers in physical academic journals, including more than 180 papers published in the Physical Review series of the American Physical Society, and wrote a long review for "Physics Reports". His research results have been cited more than 10,000 times, which has played a very good theoretical guiding role in the research of hadron physics in major high-energy physics experiments in the world. He is the winner of the 15th "China Youth Science and Technology Award", and won the first prize of Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education. He pays attention to the mutual benefits of teaching and scientific research, and the course "Particle Physics" taught by him was selected as the national first-class undergraduate courses.
