Description

Abstract:

The early application of effective field theory was the chiral Lagrangian, which can describe the experimental results of low-energy QCD. In recent years, effective field theory has also been used to explore the phenomenology of electroweak physics and dark matter. This talk will introduce some of our research progress in this area.

Biography:

Zhang Honghao, is a Professor of the School of Physics at Sun Yat-sen University, and is a Ph.D. supervisor. He studied at the Department of Physics, Tsinghua University from 1998 to 2002 for his undergraduate degree, and from 2002 to 2007 for his Ph.D. He has been working at Sun Yat-sen University since 2007. His main research areas are particle physics and field theory, especially dark matter, effective field theory, extra dimensions, composite Higgs, and new physics beyond the standard model. His research group is one of the earliest groups to use the effective field theory method for phenomenological calculations and analysis of dark matter. The representative research papers in this area have received numerous citation.
