Abstract:
In this talk I will introduce the current status of top quark mass measurements at the LHC and a tension among different experimental results. I show that this very likely comes from the discrepancy between theory and experiment in the low pair invariant mass region in the top quark pair production process. I then discuss the theoretical modeling in this region, and show that including the resummation of Coulomb gluons will lead to predictions better compatible with experimental data. This also leads to better agreement among different measurements of the top quark mass.
