Abstract: 

In this talk, I will provide an overview of gravitational waves (GWs) and the advanced techniques employed for their detection. I will review the current state of gravitational wave observatories, focusing on the LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA (LVK) collaboration, and highlight their key achievements in this field. Additionally, I will address the significant challenges associated with gravitational wave detection, particularly the issues of noise classification and reduction in GW data analysis. I will discuss the machine learning methods developed to address these issues. Finally, I will outline proposed advancements and future directions aimed at further enhancing the sensitivity and capabilities of gravitational wave detectors.

2008 – now, Professor, Department of Electrophysics and AI college, Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan.

Research interests: gravitational wave detection, black hole physics, AdS/CFT duality, string theory
