Description
Abstract

Holographic quantum error-correcting code (HQEC) is a hypothetical quantum-information structure proposed to interpret the AdS/CFT correspondence in the study of quantum gravity. Intriguingly, HQEC naturally captures certain essences of AdS/CFT, e.g., the radial commutativity and the bulk reconstruction, that are “mysterious” from the field-theory perspective. In reality, realizing the hypothetical structure of HQEC in models of holographic quantum code has become a very active research pursuit, but it remains a challenge towards ideal realization. On the other hand, the impact of HQEC has expanded to the experimental studies and motivated quantum simulation of the structure. Yet, a feasible scheme for simulation is still pursued. In this talk, I will present my recent research towards advances in the both quests. I will put emphasis on introducing the subject to condensed matter physicists.

Biography

Dr. Wei Wang obtained his PhD. from the University of Oklahoma (U.S.) in 2017, and then finished his first postdoc position in MPIPKS (Germany) in 2020. He is now an independent postdoc fellow in TDLI working on topics regarding quantum information and quantum many-body physics.
