Abstract:

This report will focus on key technological advances in superconducting and topological quantum computing, highlighting the significance of fundamental research on materials and devices for the development of quantum computing chips. Using flux as an example, the report introduces device noise studies and novel qubit design research related to flux, covering areas such as noise dynamics, quasiparticle interactions, and topological state engineering.

Biography:

Mingtang Deng is an Associate Researcher at the School of Computer Science, National University of Defense Technology (NUDT). He received his Bachelor’s degree from the School of Computer Science, NUDT in 2007, and his Ph.D. in Solid-State Physics from Lund University, Sweden in 2013. He subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, during which he also served as a Quantum Science Advisor for Microsoft. Currently, he is an Associate Researcher at NUDT, working in the fields of quantum computing, superconducting/topological superconducting quantum device physics, mesoscopic quantum transport, superconducting materials, and noise mechanisms. He has published multiple papers as first author or corresponding author in journals such as Science and Physical Review Letters(PRL) and has been recognized as a Highly Cited Chinese Researcher by Elsevier. He leads several major national and military research projects.
