DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Ningqiang Song（宋宁强） (the Institute of Theo
retical Physics\, Chinese Academy of Sciences)\n\nAbstract: Over the past
few decades\, tremendous progress has been made in the search for the Uni
verse's most elusive particles: dark matter and neutrinos. Today\, this re
search is advancing across distinct frontiers\, from ultra-low energy thre
shold measurements of light dark matter to the high-energy detection of as
trophysical neutrinos. I will discuss some of the most well-motivated dark
matter models in direct and indirect searches\, with special focus on lig
ht dark matter. I will also present the prospect of the study of high-ener
gy neutrinos\, and how they can be connected to dark matter and new physic
s.Biography: Dr Ningqiang Song obtained his PhD degree at CN Yang Institu
te for Theoretical Physics\, Stony Brook University in 2018. After graduat
ion he joined Queen's University and Perimeter Institute as a postdoctoral
fellow from 2018 to 2021. Between 2021 and 2023\, he was a research assoc
iate at the University of Liverpool. He is now an associate professor at t
he Institute of Theoretical Physics\, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has
been working on dark matter\, neutrinos and new physics.Online Meeting Roo
