n insulator for charges\, emerges in a material when its charge gap become
s smaller than the exciton binding energy. An exciton gas spontaneously fo
rms and could host plenty exotic phases—Bosonic Superfluid\, Exciton Sol
id\, Chiral Pseudospin Liquid\, etc. I will demonstrate a strongly correla
ted EI ground state formed in transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) semico
nductor double layers. Such kind of equilibrium excitonic system provides
new opportunities for engineering quantum many-boson states in solids. Rap
id developments have emerged recently in the field. Biography:Dr. Liguo M
a is currently a tenure-track assistant professor in the School of Physics
of Zhejiang University since 01/2024. He obtained his PhD from Fudan Univ
ersity in 2019. a postdoc at Cornell University until 2023. Dr. Liguo Ma's
recent research is focused on strongly correlated phenomena and quantum c
 ondensation in low-dimensional materials.\n\nhttps://indico-tdli.sjtu.edu.
