DESCRIPTION:Shanghai\, China | December 7-11\, 2026Organized by Tsung-Dao
Lee Institute\, Shanghai Jiao Tong UniversityAbout the ConferenceThe Tsung
-Dao Lee Institute (TDLI) in Shanghai\, in collaboration with several othe
r institutions\, is organizing the inaugural "International Symposium on R
elativistic Astrophysics\," to be held in Shanghai from December 7 to 11\,
2026.  We envision this as the start of a recurring series — similar i
n spirit to the Texas Symposium — that will likely rotate among various
institutions across China every few years. The symposium will cover all maj
or topics in relativistic astrophysics\, including (but not limited to) gr
avity and gravitational waves\, formation of black holes of all scales\, a
ccretion processes around compact objects\, explosive time-domain phenomen
 a (e.g. supernovae\, GRBs\, TDEs)\, rotation and magnetically powered sour
 ces (e.g. pulsars\, magnetars\, FRBs)\, particle astrophysics (cosmic rays
 \, gamma-rays and neutrinos)\, plasma astrophysics (including laboratory p
robes) and future high-energy astrophysics missions. Format: Oral talks +
poster presentations (displayed throughout the conference). Oral talks wi
ll include both invited/solicited talks and contributed talks. Given the d
iverse topics covered by the symposium\, it is likely the afternoon oral t
alks will be divided into 2-3 parallel sessions. There will be dedicated p
oster sessions. This conference is in-person only. The maximum number of
participants in the conference is limited to 300.Pre-registration: If you
are interested in receiving further announcements about the symposium\, pl
ease pre-register (input your name and email). SOC:Roger Blandford (Stanf
