ZZy finished
- Organized the Run-3 kickoff sample list, including Data22–Data25 and the main MC samples ZH(H→Zγ), WZ, ZZ, Zγ, ttˉγ, and pileup.
- The sample list has been used in the framework test, and the framework can now run on these inputs.
- Started the XS calculation for the 4ℓγ signal using Sherpa at both s=13 TeVands=13.6 TeV. This takes more time because I am using the official Sherpa setup with NLO/merged precision, instead of a simplified LO test card.
Plans
- Continue with the ZZγ Sherpa XS check.
- Finish the POWHEG check for ZH(H→Zγ) by today
- Prepare the Run3 kickoff materials.

Status 10mSpeaker: Zhiyu Zhao (TDLI, SJTU)
Today's focus:
[STCF EMC]:- To understand how the circuit configuration affects the timing resolution of the crystal detector unit, we first performed a continuous cosmic-ray test for about one week. During this period, we changed one circuit component each day and analyzed the resulting signals.

- To shorten the optimization and iteration cycle, we replaced crystal scintillation with a laser diode and directly tested the SiPM + preamplifier circuit. The observed trends can match those from the cosmic-ray tests, indicating that the setup works as intended and can significantly reduce the iteration time—from about a week to just a few hours.

- We also developed a corresponding circuit simulation model, and the simulation results were consistent with the experimental expectations

[DarkSHINE simulation]:
- Further studied how the dark-photon signal significance depends on the ECAL energy resolution and derived preliminary constraints on the required resolution. However, the current analysis is based on a limited number of background events, about (3e10), whereas the target is (3e14). Further studies are still needed to evaluate the sensitivity at much higher statistics.
[DarkSHINE ECAL electronics]:
- Yesterday, we discussed with professors from USTC their recent progress on the electronics system design. They have completed the schematic design of the front-end board and plan to finish the PCB layout before the next meeting.
Plans:
- [STCF EMC] : Plan to propose an electronics configuration that delivers improved timing resolution, combining simulation tools and the updated experimental setup.
- [DarkSHINE simulation] :At present, we do not have enough background samples. We are therefore considering either focusing only on the dominant rare background processes or extrapolating the inclusive background to extend the study to higher statistics.

Status 10mSpeaker: Matthias Tartarin (TDLI, SJTU)
Today's focus:
[ssWW]:- reWeighting on WZ_CR : We are very close to producing final plots.
- Status report slides have been validated by team members and AC. Aesthetic to be improved before friday.
- Dim-8 EFT: Communicated our intent to work on this theme to the AC.
[Hyy*]:
- Followed AC direction on investigating the impact of two by-Hand cuts he suggested, compared to SR selection (i.e. pass_event) on the m_lly distribution (for both Data and MC).

[ZZy]:
- Great advancement over the past days:
- HGamGam Framework is working and Run-3 friendly
- Plots of interest have been successfully produced.
Plans:
- [ssWW]
- Define strategy for Dim-8 EFT interpretation right after WZ_CR is validated by the group.
- Present the status report this Friday.
- [ZZy]
- Cross the last items on the list, and communicate with Linjing what is the current status.
- Prepare a powerpoint presentation to be submitted to Prof. Li with all of the elements on the list.

- Sterile Neutrino

This figure shows the truth-level recoil-electron energy and angular distributions for different sterile-neutrino masses. The recoil electron is mainly concentrated at low energy, indicating that most of the beam energy is carried away by invisible particles. As mNm_NmN increases, the angular distribution becomes broader, showing stronger kinematic effects from the heavier sterile neutrino.

This figure compares the reconstructed recoil-electron momentum of the sterile-neutrino signal with a dark-photon reference sample. The sterile-neutrino signal is generally softer, especially for lighter masses, meaning that the visible electron carries less momentum while the invisible final state carries away most of the beam energy.

This figure shows the reconstructed missing-momentum distribution. For light sterile neutrinos, the signal is concentrated at large missing momentum, which is a typical missing-energy signature. As mNm_NmN increases, the distribution shifts because the heavier invisible particle changes the event kinematics. This variable is therefore useful for defining and optimizing the signal region.

This figure shows the detector-level ECAL and HCAL energy distributions. Most signal events have very small HCAL energy, consistent with a final state containing a recoil electron and invisible particles but little hadronic activity. This supports the use of an HCAL veto and ECAL-based selection for the signal region.
