Abstract: Next-generation neutrino detectors will deliver a wealth of neu
trino signals from core-collapse supernovae\, binary neutron star mergers\
, pion decays\, and nuclear reactors. Bridging the gap between merely dete
cting these signals and truly understanding them represents the central ch
allenge\, and the path forward for the field of multi-messenger nuclear as
trophysics. The question I would like to discuss in this seminar is: What
nuclear physics should be understood before we can learn from the CCSNe ne
utrino messengers? I will focus on a few types of neutrino-CCSNe matter in
teractions that may influence the explosion mechanism\, the yield of heavy
elements\, the neutrino flavor oscillations\, as well as the neutrino eve
nts observed on detectors.   Biography:Dr. Zidu Lin is a tenure-track A
ssistant Professor at the Sino-French Institute of Nuclear Engineering and
Technology\, Sun Yat-Sen University. He received his Ph.D. from Indiana U
niversity Bloomington in 2018 under the supervision of Prof. C. J. Horowit
 z. He subsequently held a postdoctoral position at Arizona State Universit
 y (2018–2020) with Prof. C. Lunardini\, followed by an NP3M Fellowship a
 t the University of Tennessee (2020–2025) with Prof. A. W. Steiner.Dr. L
in's research lies at the intersection of neutrino physics and nuclear ast
rophysics. His current work focuses on two directions: (1) improving the n
uclear theories required for faithful modeling of core-collapse supernovae
(CCSNe) and binary neutron star (BNS) mergers\; and (2) exploiting novel
multi-messenger observables to constrain and test modern theories of compa
 ct stars.Alternative online link: https://meeting.tencent.com/dm/dcAwtq7qp
