      • restarted the ZZγ XS calculation at 13 TeV and 13.6 TeV with Sherpa 2.2.5, following the Run2 setup. After fixing the LHAPDF/NNPDF30NNLO setup, the 13 TeV job is now running normally

      Plan

      • Plan to discuss the next steps for the Run3 ZZγ analysis, including the sample request/production, and the framework strategy between HGamGamStar and EasyJet.
      • A kickoff meeting will be held this Friday.

      • Checked the deposited energy distribution for the FastSimu results;
        • No low-deposited events in current dataset (inclusive, 10k) -> May need to generate more samples;

      Today's focus: 


      [STCF EMC]:

      • Plan to build a 16-channel SiPM array: the central 4 channels for timing measurement and the outer 12 channels for energy measurement. Their timing and energy resolutions need to be optimized separately. I have surveyed some existing methods, and need to design a validation board based on our requirements

      [DarkSHINE ECAL Prototype]:

      • I produced a prototype for FPC flex-cable testing. It uses flexible cables to connect the SiPM board and the preamplifier board, which is more friendly to the mechanical design and can help isolate heat sources from the detector-sensitive region. It is currently under test

      [CEPC crystal ECAL]:

      • Recently, I proposed a new idea: adding dual-readout capability (scintillation light + Cherenkov light) to the existing double-ended readout long crystal bars. A low-pass optical filter is placed at one end to read Cherenkov light, while the other end reads scintillation light. The difference in non-EM response between the two signals is then used for correction, improving hadron measurement precision.

       

      • This is a scheme that others have explored before, but it can be applied to our current detector design with minimal modification. I have carried out some simulation performance studies and gave two presentations on this topic. The results look promising. People at IHEP expressed interest.

      • I asked some BGO and BSO crystals IHEP, and I am currently testing them in our lab

      Exotic Higgs decay analysis

      • Produced the NTuples for the EveNet model
      • Currently testing the EveNet model (working with Xuliang)
      • Next plan: Improve the b-jet tagging efficiency for the 4b final state topology
      • There is a new jet reconstruction algorithm called eXclusive Cone (XCone) algorithm that can identify jets even for merged topology (https://arxiv.org/abs/1508.01518v3)
      • Firstly I am validating the performance of this algorithm against eekT for the CEPC using H->bb process
      • If the jet performance looks good, then I will train the ParT with jets clustered using the XCone algorithm

      HGTD upgrade

      • Took the wafer test shift in the weekend and will take another one this Saturday

      • Post-unblinding : Produced paper-ready plots for the fake template side.
      • Looked at comments on CDS regarding fake templates to be adressed.

      [ZZy]:

      • Kick-off slides draft is ready for Friday. Should they be discussed them further?
      • Framework investigation still on-going, no progress to discuss at the moment.

      [VBS kappa_lambda]:

      • Looking into going beyond : Using latest version of MadGraph, and/or using different generators to compare results.
      • Ideally: Discuss preliminary results with Prof. Keping Xie in a near future. About the collaboration size, what is the expected collaboration here / workplan ? 

      Plans: 

      • [ZZy]: Present the kick-off on behalf of SJTU/TDLI, and get a clearer idea about the Run-3 analysis other team's contributions. Continue working on the new framework.
      • [ssWW]: Status not clear about the dim-8 EFTs MC production from USTC side. Direction to be explored if times allow: unfolding?
      • [VBS kappa_lambda]: Continue direction investigated these past weeks.

        Today's focus: 


        [STCF]:

        • I corrected the error in the previous position resolution analysis. Then I obtained the correct position resolution results for both the positron beam simulation and experimental data.
        • Taking the 1.0 GeV positron beam as an example. From left to right:  experiment - simulation (slight differences arise from detector effects and analysis uncertainties)
        • To investigate the dependence of the detector response on the incident position, the beam spot distribution on the ECAL was reconstructed from the tracker to analyze the differences between simulation and experiment. (The beam spot formed after scattering closely resembles that formed in the experiment)

         

        Plans: 

         

        [DarkSHINE]:

        • Conduct single-crystal simulations with Geant4 (sorry for the delay caused by prior other tasks)


        [STCF]:

        • Adjust beam spot size, then compare position resolution between hits at crystal center and edge.
