 Abstract:After a brief overview of the nuclear theory activities at the In
 stitute for Basic Science (IBS)\, we present a few selected research topic
 s\, with particular emphasis on nuclear transport simulations based on the
  DaeJeon Boltzmann–Uehling–Uhlenbeck (DJBUU) code. The DJBUU framework
  incorporates a chiral symmetry-based model to investigate the origin of t
 he nucleon mass and to explore the possible role of partial chiral symmetr
 y restoration in heavy-ion collisions. We also discuss our ongoing researc
 h on pairing instabilities in Fermi liquids.Biography:Dr. Youngman Kim is 
 a Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Exotic Nuclear Studies (CENS) o
 f the Institute for Basic Science (IBS)\, where he leads the Nuclear Theor
 y Group. He also serves as Co-Director of the France–Korea Particle Phys
 ics Network\, promoting international collaboration in nuclear and particl
 e physics. In addition\, he has represented the Korean nuclear physics com
 munity in several major international research initiatives\, including the
  DRHBc Mass Table Project and the theoretical program of TOPTIER (Top-Tier
  Platform in Extremely Rare Isotope Science).He received his Ph.D. in Phys
 ics from Hanyang University in 1999. He subsequently held postdoctoral res
 earcher positions at Seoul National University\, the University of South C
 arolina\, and the Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS).In 2012\, he w
 as invited to join the Institute for Basic Science (IBS)\, where he establ
 ished a theoretical research group dedicated to rare isotope physics and e
 xotic nuclear systems. Prior to joining IBS\, from 2009 to 2012\, he serve
 d as the leader of a Junior Research Group (JRG) at the Asia Pacific Cente
 r for Theoretical Physics (APCTP) while concurrently holding an adjunct pr
 ofessorship in the Department of Physics at Pohang University of Science a
 nd Technology (POSTECH).His research has focused on nuclear theory\, hadro
 n physics\, and the application of generalized AdS/CFT correspondence to s
 trongly interacting systems in nuclear and particle physics. Throughout hi
 s career\, he has authored and co-authored more than 100 scientific public
