 ity of Hong Kong)\n\nAbstract:The Sun is a high energy neutrino source due
  to cosmic rays interacting with the solar atmosphere. These solar atmosph
 eric neutrinos are realistically within reach in current and near future e
 xperiments. However\, evidence from solar atmospheric gamma rays show that
  solar magnetic fields could significantly affect the cosmic ray interacti
 ons\, and thus the neutrino flux. I will review current theoretical progre
 ss in understanding cosmic-ray interactions in the Sun under magnetic fiel
 ds\, and the detection status and prospects for high-energy gamma rays and
  neutrinos. Finally\, I will also briefly discuss the implications of sola
 r atmospheric neutrinos on dark matter searches from the Sun.Speaker Bio:P
 rof. Kenny Chun Yu Ng received his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University. H
 e held postdoctoral positions at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Isra
 el and the GRAPPA Institute at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherla
 nds\, before joining The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2020. His rese
 arch focuses on astrophysical searches for new physics\, particularly dark
  matter\, as well as high-energy astro-particle physics\, with a special i
 nterest in gamma-ray and neutrino emissions from the Sun. He recently join
