DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Ian Moult (Department of Physics\, Yale University)\
n\nAbstract:The LEP colliders\, operating at CERN during the 90s\, provide
d extensive precision data on the strong nuclear interactions and the weak
force. Recently\, thanks to heroic experimental efforts\, the LEP data ha
s been made available for modern analyses\, allowing the application of ne
w theoretical and computing techniques to this data. In this talk\, I will
give an overview of some of the ways that this data is being used. In par
ticular\, I will discuss how it has enabled precision measurements of ener
gy correlator observables\, providing new insights into strong and electro
weak physics.Speaker Bio:Professor Moult obtained his undergraduate degree
from the University of British Columbia in 2011\, and his Ph.D in theoret
ical particle physics from MIT in 2016. He was then a Postdoctoral Fellow
 at UC Berkeley/LBL (2016–2019) and SLAC/Stanford (2019–2021) before jo
ining the Yale Physics Department in 2021.Alternative online link: https:
