DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Nick Latham (King's College London)\n\nAbstractLong-
baseline neutrino oscillation experimentation is about to enter aprecision
era. As experiments such as Hyper-K and DUNE begin data.taking in the com
ing years\, statistical uncertainties will increasingly giveway to systema
tic uncertainties associated with neutrino-nucleu.interaction modelling. I
mproving these models will require targetedmeasurements of exclusive and s
ubdominant interaction channels whichhave previouslybeen impossible to per
form. Our understanding ofremains incomplete inseveral  areasneutrino-nuc
leus interactionsincluding the precise nature of the nuclear response and
final-stateinteractions\, how multiple pions are produced\, and difference
s betweensections. The upgraded near detector ofT2k\,ND280.isve and yu cro
ssone of several programmes addressing these challenges directly. Thissemi
nar will introduce the current state of neutrino cross-section physicsIt w
ill discuss how the field must advance\, particularly by using novelND280
measurements\, to improve our understanding of neutrinointeractions and re
duce systematic uncertainties for next-generationoscillation measurements.
BiographyNick Latham is a postdoctoral researcher at King's College London
.working on the Japan-based Super-Kamiokande\, T2K and HyperKamiokande exp
eriments. He completed his PhD at the University ofWarwick in 2024: his th
esis focusing on the first measurement ofelectron-neutrino charged-current
pion production on carbon using theold ND280 configuration at T2K\, At Ki
ng's\, he currently works on thedevelopment of the data acquisition and on
line monitoring for thenext generation Hyper-Kamiokande experiment. He als
o continues tofocus on neutrino cross_section measurements\, and more rece
ntly\, onsearches of new physics bevond them current 3-neutrino paradigmus
