DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Evgeny Soldatov (Moscow Engineering Physics Institut
e)\n\nAbstract:\nModern particle physics experiments search for deviations
of data from theoretical predictions. However\, before any comparison can
be made\, predictions must undergo a long journey — from Lagrangian and
Feynman rules to distributions reconstructed after detector simulation. T
his lecture offers an experimentalist's perspective on the full Monte Carl
o production chain that underpins virtually every LHC analysis. I will dis
cuss how signal and background are modelled using popular MC generators\,
describe the standard simulation chain\, and highlight practical technique
s that can dramatically reduce simulation time. In conclusion\, special at
tention will be given to why some generators are chosen over others in rea
l analyses\, and how human factors — manpower and deadlines — influenc
e MC sample choices in practice.\nBiography:\nProf. Evgeny Soldatov studie
d particle physics at the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute\, Russia\,
where he received his PhD in 2017. He held positions of Research Scientist
\, Assistant Professor\, and Associate Professor at the same institute\, w
here he has been teaching graduate and undergraduate courses for many year
 s. Since 2008\, he has been a member of the ATLAS experiment at CERN\, wor
king within the Standard Model\, Egamma\, and Heavy Ions scientific groups
. From 2020 to 2022\, he served as Convener of the PhotonID Egamma group i
n ATLAS. Since 2026\, he has been serving as Deputy Physics Coordinator of
the SPD experiment at JINR. His current research focuses on electroweak m
ultiboson production\, effective field theory phenomenology\, and particle
reconstruction and identification algorithms. Prof. Soldatov is the head
of two educational programs in Russia and Kazakhstan\, and co-chair of the
Organizing Committee of the International Conference on Particle Physics
 and Astrophysics.\n \n\nAlternative online link: https://meeting.tencent
