DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Kun Cheng（程焜） (University of Pittsburgh)\n\n
Abstract:\nThe ways that we understand the microscopic world are based on
quantum mechanics. Recently\, there are growing interests in integrating q
uantum information with high-energy physics. For quantum information scien
ce\, particle colliders provide vast number of events and rich benchmark s
ystems. For particle physics\, these development introduces new techniques
and helps to identify the complete underlying information. In this talk\,
I will revisit the recent works on connecting particle physics and quantu
m information science\, and discuss the potential impact on both fields.\n
Speaker Bio:\nDr. Kun Cheng is a postdoctoral researcher at the University
of Pittsburgh with general interests in high-energy phenomenology. He obt
ained his B.S. degree in 2019 and his Ph.D. degree in 2024\, both from Pek
ing University. His research interests include collider physics and BSM ph
enomenology\, with a recent focus on exploring quantum information of diff
erent systems produced in collider environments.\n \nAlternative online l
