DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Longjun Wang（王龙军） (Southwest University)\n
\nAbstract:\nElements heavier than iron are synthesized through nucleon-ca
pture processes and nuclear weak decays\, under extreme stellar conditions
of high temperature\, high density\, and strong magnetic fields. Nuclear
weak-interaction processes (electron capture\, beta decay\, etc.) in stell
ar environments are crucial for understanding these nucleosynthesis proces
ses and the environments of nucleosynthesis sites. I will present the effe
cts of high-temperature\, high-density\, and strong magnetic fields on nuc
lear weak decay rates\, and discuss issues important to astrophysical nucl
 eosynthesis\, such as thermometer nuclei\, branch-point nuclei\, waiting-p
oint nuclei\, and related problems.\nBiography:\nDr. Longjun Wang is a pro
fessor at Southwest University in Chongqing\, China. He received his PhD f
rom Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2016 and then worked as a postdoctora
l fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before joining
Southwest University in 2019. He is interested in nuclear structure and a
 strophysics\, including high-spin states\, neutrinoless double beta decay\
, stellar electron captures etc. He has more than 50 publications on Phys.
  Rev. Lett\, Phys. Lett. B\, Phys. Rev. C (Rapid communication\, Letter\,
