Description

Abstract:

For a long time, exploring the properties of strongly interacting matter has been a frontier and hot topic in particle physics and nuclear physics. Progress in this field is of great significance for revealing the fundamental symmetries of the strong interaction and their breaking mechanisms, the origin of nucleon mass, the phase diagram structure of QCD, and other fundamental questions. In recent years, the accumulation of high-precision nuclear physics experimental data, extensive observations of compact stars, and the detection of gravitational waves from neutron star mergers have provided opportunities for solving or advancing some important problems. The development of artificial intelligence technology has provided efficient means for massive data processing, parameter space search, equation solving, and comprehensive analysis of results. In this talk, I will discuss some progresses made by my group on the properties and microscopic structure of nuclear matter based on data-driven artificial intelligence technology.

Biography:

Ma Yongliang is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Nanjing University. He received his Ph.D. in Science from the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2006. He subsequently conducted postdoctoral and research work at the University of Tübingen in Germany and Nagoya University in Japan. After returning to China in 2014, he served successively as a professor at Jilin University and a professor at the Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and is currently a professor at Nanjing University. His research mainly focuses on chiral effective field theory, the microscopic structure of compact stars, gravitational waves from binary neutron star mergers, and the application of artificial intelligence to compact star matter and compact star properties.
