Description

Abstract:

Pixel detector is one of the key detectors in the applications of vertex for high energy physics and imaging for advance light sources. This talk will cover two main developments of pixel detectors at IHEP. They are also corresponded to the two typical architectures in this field – monolithic and hybrid, respectively. The design efforts for the CEPC vertex detector will be discussed as for the monolithic type, while in the second half of the talk, the development of the hybrid pixel detector will also be introduced for applications in the advance light sources. Some future developments with some attempts to involve new technology will also be briefly discussed at the end of this talk.

Biography:

Wei Wei is a professor of the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), CAS. He received his Bachelor degree at University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2005and PhD at IHEP in 2010. He is now the group leader of the electronics group in Experimental Physics Division of IHEP. He has over 15-year experience in ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) design, especially on pixel detectors and their readout chips. He is now leading the development of advance detectors for HEPS (High Energy Photon Source), and also the TaichuPix chip design which is dedicated for the CEPC vertex detector.
