Description

Tencent meeting room: https://meeting.tencent.com/dm/NXVVKc7PPZSs

Meeting number: 695-8098-7502

    • 16:00 16:05
      Introduction 5m

      General items.

Speaker: Prof. Kun LIU (Tsung-Dao Lee Institute & Shanghai Jiao Tong University)
    • 16:05 16:15
ATLAS ttWML and ttHML analyses status 10m
Speaker: Nihal BRAHIMI (Tsung-Dao Lee Institute & Shanghai Jiao Tong University)

      ttWML analysis status:

      • ttW analysis is public in the form of a CONF note since Moriond EW. A public webpage and a physics briefing are also available
      • Current focus of the team is directed towards having the paper draft ready for the second circulation. The main outstanding item is the preparation of the inputs for the HEP data release where more studies are needed to validate the RIVET routine.

      ttHML analysis status:

      • Given the updated timescale for the analysis (EB request by end of May), we need to freeze the MVAs strategy by Mid-End April. First step of optimization concerns finalizing the list of variables to be used. This step depends on the decision of adding tH node to the nominal MVAs which will be taken soon.
      • CRONLY and BONLY fits to data are being performed considering CRs from the ttW analysis + MVA CRs. These are needed to understand the discrepancies we see in the data/MC comparisons mainly the deficit in the “Other” CR which is enriched in VV background (update from Jialin today).
      • In order to deal with the issue of datasets replication needed for MVA scores injection, I am testing the new feature introduced in TRExFitter making use of the Friend Tree class. This option seems to be very beneficial but I found a bug when applied to our case where we use TransfoD binning. I will validate the fix I found and report to the TRexFit team when impact is fully understood.
    • 16:15 16:25
      ATLAS ttH analysis 10m
      Speaker: jialin li
    • 16:25 16:35
ATLAS photon ID efficiency & Zgamma analysis 10m
      Speaker: Kang Liu

      I am applying cuts manually.

I can draw the efficiency plot of mc20 this weekend and the efficiency plot of data18 next week.

    • 16:35 16:50
ATLAS Zgamma & diphoton analysis 15m
Speakers: Yufeng Wang (TDLI), yufeng wang
    • 16:50 17:00
      DarkSHINE analysis general 10m
Speakers: Yufeng Wang (TDLI), yufeng wang

      DS analysis framework

      • All codes collected in git: validation plots, cut-flow, mini-tree maker for cut optimization, extrapolation, signal efficiency and sensitivity estimation, some extra tools.
      • merging into DS software and make everything automatical.

Other models: full simulation/recast (with Danning)

      • four interesting signal models:
        • axion portal - need to find model suitable for fixed target experiment (public package from LDMX?)
        • dark axion portal - already has calcHEP model
        • neutrino model - was an irreducible background in baseline 1, still worth check sensitivity
        • time-varying resonant mass - Jia Liu's team, probing ultralight DM; need some paper reading
      • recasting package:
        • try to avoid the full simulation procedure (calcHEP->lookup table->physics list in Geant4->simulation->reconstruction), use only truth information from generators
        • https://hepcedar.gitlab.io/contur/contur.html
        • https://gitlab.com/hepcedar/contur
    • 17:00 17:10
      DarkSHINE tracker study 10m
      Speaker: Junhua Zhang
    • 17:10 17:20
      DarkSHINE HCAL Study 10m
      Speaker: Hanqing Liu

1.I almost finished 80% of my thesis(Standard Model and Dark shine introduction, DarkShine frame work, main result of HCAL optimization), and plan to finish it this week.

    • 17:20 17:30
      Silicon strip sensor 10m
Speakers: Hanqing Liu, Junhua Zhang, Kang Liu, Yufeng Wang (TDLI), jialin li, yufeng wang

Automatical codes for data analysis on bl-0.

      • convert .csv files to TGraph
      • plot waveform
      • trim data: translate #step to x, find 4 neighbor strips, select and save events for analysis
      • data analysis: position reconstruction & resolution

      Paper:

      • (editable link) https://www.overleaf.com/4413756218tgbxvskzbcct
      • some analysis details to be checked (Gaussian fits, difference between line1/2, any bias from y position, etc.)
