Abstract:
The Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) experiment began its data taking in May 2011, and has accumulated more than 220 billion cosmic rays events up to energies of TeV. In this talk I will summarize the recent results and discoveries from AMS data analysis, including the published lepton fluxes, cosmic nuclei fluxes, and solar modulation results. The accuracy and characteristics of the data simultaneously from many different types of cosmic rays require the development of a new comprehensive model of the universe.
Biography:
Dr. Hai Chen obtained his B.S. degree from University of Science and Technology of China in 2010 and Ph.D from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2016. He is now an assistant professor in the School of Physics at Zhejiang University. He has been working on cosmic rays flux measurements in the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer experiment, and has a broad interest in particle physics experiments both in space and underground.
