Abstract:
The lecture is composed of two parts. In the first part, I will walk through the formula for the half-life of neutrinoless double-beta decay in atomic nuclei which is usually factorized into a product of phase-space factor, nuclear matrix element (NME), and new physics parameter. Taking the process of two neutrons decaying to two protons plus two electrons as an example, I will show the necessity and contribution of the recently proposed contact transition operator at the leading order in the chiral effective field theory for the neutrinoless double-beta decay. In the second part, I will introduce the main ideas of nuclear models that have been frequently employed to compute the NMEs of candidate neutrinoless double-beta decay and the recent achievements in this direction.
个人简介:
尧江明是中山大学教授。他于2004年获得南开大学的学士学位,并于2009年从北京大学获得粒子物理与核物理博士学位。先后在西南大学、布鲁塞尔自由大学、日本东北大学、北卡罗来纳大学教堂山分校和密歇根州立大学从事科研工作。他于2021年加入中山大学担任全职教授。尧教授主要从事原子核结构与衰变等方面课题研究,先后发展了原子核多参考态协变密度泛函理论以及介质生成坐标方法,并将其应用于原子集体激发、无中微子双贝塔衰变以及超核结构等课题研究,首次实现了候选核无中微子双贝塔衰变核矩阵元的相对论描述以及“第一性原理”计算。在Physical Review Letters ,Physics Letters B, Physical Review C等核物理期刊上发表论文100+篇,受邀在Progress in Particle and Nuclear Physics期刊撰写无中微子双贝塔衰变核矩阵元方面的综述论文。
