Description

Abstract:

In the realm of heavy flavor physics, precise measurement of the CKM matrix element |Vub| provides an important measure for the amount of CPV due to the Kobayashi-Maskawa mechanisms. Over the past decades, exclusive and inclusive measurements of |Vub| have shown a persistent discrepancy of about 3 standard deviations, known as the long-standing "|Vub| Puzzle.” This presentation provides a comprehensive overview of recent investigations into B→ Xu lv decays at Belle, including the first simultaneous determination of inclusive and exclusive |Vub|.

Biography:

Dr. Lu Cao, a postdoctoral fellow at Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY), earned her Ph.D. in 2016 from the University of Bochum and Jülich Research Centre. Since joining the Belle and Belle II Collaboration in 2017, her focus has been on the measurements of |Vub| and |Vcb| . Dr. Cao also plays a leading role as the convener of the working group dedicated to (semi)leptonic B decays at Belle II.
