The 4th “Asian-European-Institutes Workshop for BSM” will be held October 8-11 at the Tsung Dao Lee Institute/Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The aim of this meeting is to gather theorists from participating institutes together to share their current research related to particle physics and cosmology, with a particular focus on BSM. In a time when the standard model of particle physics and cosmology may not satisfy everyone, this meeting provides an opportunity to explore new theoretical avenues, future experiments, and novel experimental ideas.

The AEI Workshop for BSM has been a significant platform for theorists in particle physics and cosmology. The first workshop, held in November 2019 in Jeju, South Korea, was combined with the 9th KIAS Workshop and focused on Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) topics. The second edition took place in November 2022, also in Jeju, marking the first post-pandemic event and emphasizing collaboration and the promotion of young researchers. The third workshop, held in October 2023 in Ikaho, Japan, featured discussions on new theoretical avenues, future experiments, and cutting-edge topics like AI and dark matter.

Major participating institutions include Durham University (Durham U), Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (Kavli IPMU), High Energy Accelerator Research Organization, Japan (KEK), Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS), Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) and the T.D. Lee Institute (TDLI).

Proposed by the Nobel laureate Tsung-Dao Lee and with support and endorsement from governments and ministries at national and municipal levels, Tsung-Dao Lee Institute (TDLI) is a basic research institute established at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in November 2016, aiming to build itself as a world-leading science institute.

Resonating with Professor Lee’s vision, the Institute focuses on the most fundamental science questions and conducts cutting-edge research in physics and astronomy in an effort to shed light on the relationship between the maximum and the minimum in the universe, and the most fundamental and profound laws of interaction in the nature.
