Description
Abstract

Superconductivity is associated with spontaneously broken gauge symmetry. In some exotic superconductors the time-reversal symmetry is broken as well, accompanied with internal magnetic field. I will show our observations of the effects of both magnetic and non-magnetic doping of TRS breaking superconductivity in the filled skutterudites of PrOs4Sb12 and PrPt4Ge12. The results suggest that superconductivity in these compounds is characterized by a complex order parameter. Recent explorations of TRS in the superconducting state of Pr3Cr10-xN11 and La3Cr10-xN11 will also be introduced.

Biography

Lei Shu is a professor in the Department of Physics, Fudan University. She received her PhD in Condensed Matter Physics from University of California, Riverside, USA in 2007, and was a postdoctoral fellow at University of California, San Diego, USA from 2008 to 2011. She is an experimental condensed matter physicist using muon as a probe to study the emergent phenomena in correlated d- or f-electron quantum materials, including superconductivity, magnetism, and heavy fermion behavior. She has published more than 80 SCI papers on journals such as Science Advances, Nature Reviews Methods Primers, Physical Review Letters, Physical Review B, etc.
