The Tsung-Dao Lee Institute (TDLI) in Shanghai, China, is organising a mini-School on Selected Topics in Application of RIXS in Condensed Matter Physics, Prof. Xuerong Liu, School of Physical Science and Technology, ShanghaiTech University.
Dr. Liu received his bachelor degree from the university of Science and Technology of China, and his Ph.D. from the university of California, San Diego. After working in the X-ray scattering group at the Brookhaven National Laboratory for four years, he joined the Institute of physics, Chinese academy of Sciences. In 2018, Dr. Liu moved to ShanghaiTech University and became an associated professor in the school of physical science and technology. Dr. Liu’s main interest is in the electron correlated systems, and utilizing various X-ray scattering techniques to understand their properties by probing the static and dynamic properties of the lattice, charge, spin and orbitals. In recent years he starts to explore X-ray scattering in the time domain, aiming to understand the non-thermal equilibrium evolution of the electron-correlated systems. In the coming years, Dr. Liu is responsible for building a time-resolved soft X-ray inelastic scattering beamline for Shanghai SHINE project.
This mini-School will be held in TDLI Meeting Room 200, Minhang Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, during December 17-21, 2019, and there is no registration fee. The detailed information is as follows:
