Description
Abstract:
The Kitaev chain is a model of 1D p-wave superconductivity that can host non-Abelian Majorana zero modes. In recent years, exciting breakthrough has been made in realizing Kitaev chains in a quantum dot-superconductor array. It provides a new and promising platform for studying the fundamental physics of non-Abelian anyons, as well as for implementing topological quantum computing. In this talk, I will review the recent progresses in both theory and experiment, and furthermore discuss the future directions.

Biography:
After obtaining my PhD degree in University of Maryland, College Park under the supervision of Prof. Jay D. Sau and Prof. Sankar Das Sarma, I moved to QuTech, Delft University of Technology, to work with Prof. Michael Wimmer as a postdoctoral researcher. Since 2023, I became a staff scientist in QuTech. As a condensed matter theorist, my research interests include topological phases of matter, mesoscopic quantum transport, device physics, and topological quantum computation.
