Abstract:
Neutrino is a mysterious particle in the Standard Model. Since its first discovery by Clyde L. Cowan and Frederick Reines at the Savannah River plant in 1956, reactor neutrinos have played a significant role in establishing the stand model of physics and the theory of neutrino oscillation. In this talk I will brief the history of reactor neutrinos and report the most recent progress of the reactor neutrino research.
Biography:
Jiajie Ling, received his physics bachelor degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2000. He received the Ph.D. degree at University of South Carolina in 2010. After his postdoc research in Brookhaven National Lab and University and Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. In 2015, he became the professor at Sun Yat-sen University. He has been working on several neutrino experiments, including NOMAD, MINOS, Daya Bay, EXO200, JUNO and DUNE. He has been leading the analysis effort for the Daya Bay and JUNO collaborations.
