Abstract:

The problem of baryon-antibaryon asymmetry of the Universe (BAU), as one of the core puzzles in modern particle physics and cosmology, has long attracted great attention from the academic community. The leptogenesis mechanism has unique advantages in explaining this problem because it closely links the issue of neutrino mass generation with the BAU problem. This report will give an overview of the leptogenesis mechanism and its phenomenological aspects, including the research background of leptogenesis, standard leptogenesis mechanism based on the Type-I seesaw model, typical non-standard leptogenesis mechanisms, the realization of leptogenesis in typical new physics models, the multifaceted connections between leptogenesis and cosmology, as well as the experimental tests of leptogenesis.

Biography:

Zhen-hua Zhao, Professor. He pursued his combined Master’s and PhD degrees at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) from 2009 to 2014, and conducted postdoctoral research at the Institute of High Energy Physics, CAS from 2014 to 2016. He joined Liaoning Normal University in 2016. He has long been engaged in researches on neutrino physics and related cosmological issues. In recent years, his research interests have focused on the leptogenesis mechanism and its phenomenological aspects. He has published more than 40 academic papers, including two review articles in Reports on Progress in Physics.
