    • Introduction & Announcements

Meeting's note: [To be written after the meeting]

      Announcements:

      • From email received on May 18:“A Year in ATLAS” - June 2026Dear Early Career Scientists, We are happy to announce the next iteration of “A Year in ATLAS,” taking place at CERN and on Zoom on Monday, June 29th! This event is primarily targeted toward ATLAS members who already finished/are about to finish their authorship qualification project, though anyone is more than welcome!
The event will feature several explanatory talks (such as ATLAS organization structure) and a panel discussion on making your way in the collaboration. We’ve also taken recent feedback into consideration and have adjusted the agenda accordingly. Please join!

      ZZy finished

      • finished compiling all samples currently used in the Run 3 Kickoff Framework, as well as all available signal and background samples from the MC production. The full list with bl-0 paths will be uploaded today.
      • successfully downloaded and ran Sherpa 2.2.12 and Powheg to compute the cross sections for the signal processes llllγ and ZH (H→Zγ) at 13 TeV (Run 2) and 13.6 TeV (Run 3), respectively. The cross-section calculation provides the theoretical baseline for quantifying signal yield gains at 13.6 TeV, validating generator predictions, and anchoring the Run 3 analysis normalization.

      Plans

      • complete the cross-section calculation for the ZZγ signal process, with cross-checks between Sherpa and Powheg results to ensure robustness
      • get the framework fully running on my side with the complete sample set, so we're better positioned for efficient post-kickoff analysis.

      Today's focus:

      [ssWW]:

      • Presented the EWK status report last Friday.
      • Presented the WZ_CR m_jj reweighting results yesterday (Tuesday) during the group meeting. Comments (made about the uncertainties of the fits and its propagation) have been adressed and shared on MatterMost.

      [Hyy*]:

      • AC shared a new n-tuple formalism dummy sample Monday on Mattermost. Yesterday, the data have been downloaded on /eos/. This allowed me to:
        • Testing my scripts are working (to continue the fake template task)
        • Check that the cutflow is exactly the same with new files(task requested by AC)
        • Run my script on the available files (only data for now):
      • Shared with AC privately on Mattermost. Prelimiary result seems good enough to present for next GM (whatever the status of MC sample).

      [ZZy]:

      • Latest results and plot have been documented in a powerpoint, to summarize the efforts made during the past days/weeks.

      Plans:

      • [ssWW]: WZ_QCD reweighting closure plots have been validated[?], last step would be to implement the reweighting function inside FastFrames and focus on our next task: dim-8 EFT.
      • [Hyy*]: New n-tuples should be ready soon. I will run my updated jobs on them right away.
      • [VBS Kappa_Lambda]: Start working on this project, starting Thursday.

    • REU: Undergrad Research Discussions
