      • CEPC exotic higgs analysis with EveNet
    • 11:05 11:15
      Status 10m
      Speaker: Zhiyu Zhao (TDLI, SJTU)

      Today's focus:

      [STCF EMC]:

      • A timing resolution of 600 ps for MIPs has already been achieved with pure CsI crystals. Since the crystals themselves are relatively large in volume (about 6*6*28 cm^3), the USTC professor suggested me to study the consistency of the timing resolution for particles incident at different positions.
      • Using cosmic rays, I studied the crystal’s response to particles hitting different positions along the crystal’s length. I found that:
        • The timing resolution is better at positions closer to the sensor
        • The closer the impact point is to the sensor, the larger the signal amplitude and the shorter the detection time. This suggests that timing information may be used to infer where the energy is deposited within the crystal.

      • I built a simple setup to collect cosmic-ray particles incident along the crystal’s length. In this configuration, the energy deposition is larger, but the event rate is very low, so long-term running is needed to collect sufficient data.

      [DarkSHINE ECAL Prototype]:

      • Investigate the mechanical structure of the similar crystal prototype designs, such as CRINLIN, CEPC ScW ECAL, CMS MTD BTL. Plan to discuss with USTC professor.

    • 11:15 11:25
      Status 10m
Speaker: Haidar Mas'ud Alfanda (TDLI, SJTU)

      DarkSHINE

      • Completed the uniformity test for the 75 cm-long scintillator
      • We started collecting the data for the four-channel test using 35 cm-long scintillator
      • Next step:
      • Analyze the data
      • Perform the four-channel test again using 75 cm-long scintillator
      • I will discuss the status of the sterile neutrino analysis with Xuliang, to identify the to-dos

Exotic Higgs decay at the CEPC

      • We discussed with Yulei about the Eve-net model, understood what we need to do
      • Now I am producing the Ntuples for both signal and background processes
      • The input (part of the statistics) should be available within this week and test the software setup
      • Furthermore, I also discussed with Huilin, he suggested to either develop a dedicated ParT for this 4b final states like ATLAS and CMS did, or to use Manqi's model, the Advanced Color Singlet Identification
      • For now we keep his suggestion aside to focus on the Eve-net

      HGTD upgrade

      • Took a shift for the wafer test last weekend
      • Will take another shift this weekend
    • 11:25 11:35
      Status 10m
      Speaker: Matthias Tartarin (TDLI, SJTU)

      Today's focus:

      [Hyy*]:

      • Prepared and presented the slides for the Unblinding request (for the Photons sub-group meeting Yesterday).

      [ZZy]:

      • Prepared small updates to the Run-3 ZZy TDLI prepration slides:
        • Already included small updates on some plots of interests: Using raw datasets for Zy background (for comparison), and added the "most probable candidate" ZZ pile-up sample to the reproduction of Figure 8.2 (<- I will put them in the Appendix, the ZZ contribution is maybe a bit large).

        • Will include the update from Linjing to the slides, when available (about list of available MC sample; and the update on signal XS scaling).
          • ttH candidate sample changed: Lijing modified the sample .txt file, and I re-submitted the sample to the chain (grid/download/merge/plot production) these last two days: OK.

      • Began to read again the Run-2 INT note to anticipate future discussions. Will take more time for this.

      Plans:

      • No clear tasks. I am up-to-date on the different items, and will continue in that direction.
      • [ZZy]: Will have the last meeting before presentation with Linjing this afternoon. After that I will circulate final slides to the group.
      • [VBS kappa_lambda]: Could not update this work last week ; Still on the to-do list high priority.
