      Today's focus:

      [STCF EMC]:

      • The crystal optical simulation was updated by moving the particle source to 1 m away from the crystal detector, making it more consistent with the actual collider environment. Under this setup, the time distributions of different particle types are more clearly distinguishable. The reason is that particles with different masses have different flight velocities, which means particle identification via timing information is more promising.
        • From left to right: 1GeV - 100MeV - 10MeV

      • Collect some cosmic-ray events that incident along the crystal’s length direction. The timing resolution is about 0.46 ns, and after removing the contribution from the trigger detector, it is about 0.32 ns.

      [DarkSHINE ECAL Prototype]:

      • I studied the flex cable design used in the CMS MTD BTL detector and am currently making a PCB prototype to verify the feasibility of applying a flex cable connection in the DarkSHINE ECAL prototype. The plan is to submit it to the factory for production before the festival.

      Plans:

      • [STCF EMC] : Plan to explore series/parallel readout schemes for multiple SiPMs to improve timing resolution while also preserving energy-signal measurement performance. This will also require designing dedicated readout electroncis.
      • [DarkSHINE ECAL prototype] : Completed the flex cable design and tested the signal-quality difference compared with a standard coaxial cable connection.
    • 11:15 11:25
      Status 10m

      DarkSHINE

      • Added a temperature sensor to the setup to monitor the effect on temperature on the light output

      Exotic Higgs decay analysis

      • To complete the NTuples production for the Eve-Net
    • 11:25 11:35
      Status 10m
      Speaker: Matthias Tartarin (TDLI, SJTU)

      Today's focus:

      [Hyy*]:

      • Following the unblinding request, some AIs (action items (?)) were left open to the group.
        • Answered the ones related to my work, shared it with the group during GM. Conclusion of the studies: Good news. Results are strong and should be used as such ("determined" by varying the parameters of interest requested during unblinding).
        • Variation doesn't have strong impact on the background fit (i.e. spurious signal test): Everything is good to go for the unblinding. Unblinding should be done on Wednesday and results shared during GM the following day (source: AC on MatterMost).

      [ZZy]:

      • We presented our "TDLI preparation for ZZy Run-3" work during SM EWK GM. Feedback was positive, kick-off should be scheduled for July 3rd (conflict on June 26th).

      [VBS kappa_lambda]:

      • Batch-ready production seems to be ok. I need to do more test but it seems to be ready to go for high-scale MC production.

      Plans:

      • [ZZy]: Investigating using a new framework instead of HGamGamStar.
      • [ssWW]: Yi is working on EFT MC validation. Once it is done, she will inform us and we can start dim-8 EFT fits.
      • [VBS kappa_lambda]: Continue direction investigated this week.
