Description

Abstract:

Neutrino deep inelastic scatterings provide a unique probe for partonic structure of nucleons via
charged-current weak interactions (CC DIS). Better understanding of neutrino CC DIS is also crucial
for precision neutrino physics at DUNE, as well as for detection of high-energy neutrinos at neutrino
telescopes. In this talk I will briefly summarize our recent progresses on theoretical predictions
of CC DIS based on perturbative QCD. Moreover, I will also discuss charm-quark production via CC DIS
and its implications at both NOMAD accelerator experiment and neutrino telescopes.

Biographry:

Dr. Jun Gao obtained his bachelor and PhD degrees from Peking University in 2006 and 2011. He worked
at Southern Methodist University and Argonne National Laboratory since then, and joined Institute of
Nuclear and Particle Physics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2016 as a junior faculty member. His
research focus on QCD and particle phenomenology at the LHC and future colliders.
