Description

Abstract:

The nature of dark matter and properties of neutrinos are among the most pressing issues in contemporary particle physics. XENONnT, a dual-phase xenon time-projection chamber, is one of the leading experiment in search for Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) and many other search for rare events. In this talk, I will give an introduction to XENONnT experiment and recent search results in WIMPs and low-energy electronic recoil.

Bio:

Lanqing Yuan is currently a 4th-year PhD student at UChicago department of physics, with a research focus on direct dark matter search. He is specialized in the data analysis and computing side of the experiment. Before joining UChicago, he was an undergraduate at ShanghaiTech University, where he started research in X-ray Tomography.
