Radiation plays an important role in the black hole (BH) astrophysics. In order to treat effects of a radiation around BH, we develop a novel 3-dimensional general relativistic radiation transfer (GRRT) code: CARTOON whose strong points are solving the GRRT equation in a photon number-conserving manner and incorporating an isotropic scattering. In this talk, we show details of an algorithm and results for some test calculations. Furthermore, we also show ongoing calculations of applying a part of CARTOON to a radio image of M87 to estimate its BH spin magnitude.
Mikiya Takahashi (高橋幹弥) is a Ph.D student at the University of Tsukuba. His supervisor is Ken Ohsuga. He mainly studies about the black hole accretion flow and general relativistic radiative transfer with numerical simulations. He is also interested in the relativistic jets, plasma physics and testing the general relativity. Discussions on related topics are welcomed.
