The Shanghai Symposium on Particle Physics and Cosmology (SPCS 2026): 70th Anniversary of the Discovery of Parity Nonconservation and Prospects in Frontier Physics & SPCS 2026 Summer School
To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the discovery of parity nonconservation—one of the landmark achievements in the history of modern physics—the Tsung-Dao Lee Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University will host the conference “The Shanghai Symposium on Particle Physics and Cosmology (SPCS 2026): 70th Anniversary of the Discovery of Parity Nonconservation and Prospects in Frontier Physics.” The conference will take place from June 21 to 23, followed by a summer school from June 24 to 26, 2026.
The symposium will review major developments in particle physics since the discovery of parity nonconservation and examine its far-reaching impact on modern physics. It will also provide a platform for in-depth discussions on recent advances in particle physics, quantum field theory, and other frontier areas, fostering intellectual exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration. There will be plenary sessions and parallel sessions for this symposium.

SPCS 2026 School
In conjunction with the SPCS 2026, the T.D. Lee Institute will organize a summer school for Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers on particle physics with lectures covering collider physics, CP violation, and new physics beyond the standard mode. The school will take place from June 24 to 26, 2026, at the T.D. Lee Institute.
The student applicants should include a reference letter from supervisors. The postdoc applicants should include a CV including publications.
Cost Information
The Institute will arrange accommodation (each room for two persons) and meals for selected participants and provide reimbursement for round-trip travel expenses from their university or institute to Shanghai. Reimbursement policies are as follows:
- Train tickets: limited to second-class seats.
- Air tickets: limited to economy class, with a maximum reimbursement of RMB 1,500.
If your university or institute can support your travel and accommodation, please let us know so that we can arrange single room accommodation for you.
Selection Process
Application Deadline: April 30
The Selection Committee will conduct a rigorous and impartial review of all application materials. Selected applicants will be notified by email after the application deadline.
