      Sorry, I don't have any update. I just took 1 shift and finished my homework during the holiday.

      ZZy

      • Set up script-based job submission for downloading Run 3 MC samples, and downloaded a small subset of mc23 Zy DAOD_PHYS samples for local framework tests.
      • Tested the H2Zy framework as a possible Run 3 DAOD_PHYS-compatible alternative to the legacy HGamGamStar/DAOD_HIGG1D2 workflow. The local workflow can run and produce output, but no events pass the current selection, so further checks on sample compatibility, trigger, object selection and so on.
      • Started looking into Grid-based production as the more scalable direction, since downloading full DAOD datasets to personal storage is not practical.

      Plans

      • Discuss using grid for larger statistics and validating/adapting the current framework selections for Run 3.

      [Today's focus:]

      • HGTD FELIX monitoring:
        • Get win-cc oa sub-lisence and setup it locally
      • Wlllv analysis:
        • Fix bug in sum of weight calculation when generating ntuples with sys

      [Next Plans:]

      • HGTD FELIX Monitoring:
        • Link wincc with opc-ua server
      • Wlllv analysis:
        • Prepare the slides for SM WZ subgroup meeting next Wednesday
      • H2a4b analysis:
        • Generate ntuples with LLP and construct ttbar CR

      Today's focus:

      [ssWW]:

      • Fixed the errors in grid submission with the latest easyjet framework;
      • Launched a new ntuple production process (with fjet information included);

      [Hyy*]:

      • Check the validation results: quickFit has the same results with quickstate (expected);

      [DarkSHINE]:

      • Fixed the typo in Section 3.3 of our CDR;
      • Uploaded my comments in Haydar's document;

      Plans:

      [ssWW]:

      • Wait for the finish of the ntuples production;
      • Make a new MR truth information and truth selection implemented;
      • Train the ParT with the latest ntuples;

      [Zbbj Calibration]:

      • Push all my fitting framework related codes to the main branch;

      Past week

      • The light output has been amplified to twice its original level. This was due to wrong voltage setting, it is now fixed
      • Continued to work on the DarkSHINE CDR manuscript

      Plan for this week

      • Non-uniformity test for the plastic scintillator
      • Participate in the wafer test

      Today's focus:

      [Hyy*]:

      • Fake study: Discussion last Thursday organised by AC, about best strategy to adopt following messages I sent on Mattermost days before. Strategy has been approved, the new MxAOD should now have all of the information to properly define the fakes and to make the study.
      • According to the direction validated, I corrected all of my codes. They are ready to be used the minute the new MxAOD will be produced.

      [ssWW]:

      • WZ_CR: Additional plots (i.e. stacked histogram comparison before/after m_jj WZ_QCD reweighting) to match with legacy analysis have been created. For now it used as input current version of the n-tuples (reminder: Baihong is producing new versions).

                                          (left: Screenshot taken from legacy article)                                       (right: Reproduction for our analysis, with current n-tuples)

      • Presentation of these results to the group (both reweighting and impact on the distributions) should follow right after newly created n-tuples.

      • EWK GM status report: Slides have been prepared. Still raw material for now, I will improve the content over the next couple of days and sent it on Mattermost to get comments from the group.

      [ZZy]:

      • Framework: HGamGamStar framework is now working for the Run 3 samples, for selections that should be more than enough for the kick-off.
        My current study is on a single and random Data22 file, so low statistics. But the output is readable, and the branches have been identified.
      • Production of results: Consequently, new scripts created to produce graphs and plots of interest: Cutflow yields, and figures identified from the legacy analysis (histograms of variable of interest).

      Immediate Plans:

      • [ZZy]: Produce as many plots as possible. Only limitation now: Available datasets I can use. Will check the status this afternoon.
      • [ssWW]: Wait for the new n-tuples, re-run the plotting scripts. If results are satisfactory, present them to the group.
    • REU: Undergrad Research Discussions
