Description

The First Europe-China-Japan Workshop on Muon Physics: Synergies in g-2, MUonE and Beyond aims to foster international collaboration and discussions on the latest developments in muon physics. Bringing together experts from Europe, China, and Japan, this workshop will focus on ongoing and future muon-related experiments, including Muon g-2/EDM at J-PARC, MUonE at CERN, and emerging muon research programs in China and around the world. The event provides a platform for in-depth discussions on experimental milestones, challenges, and opportunities for synergy between different research efforts.

The workshop will cover key topics such as:

  • The status and future prospects of Muon g-2/EDM experiments and their impact on precision physics.
  • The latest progress in MUonE, including its upcoming physics run and experimental challenges.
  • Potential synergies between muon experiments, including shared technologies and methodologies.
  • Future muon-related research directions, such as the Muon Station for Science, Technology, and Industry (MELODY),  Muonium-to-Antimuonium Conversion Experiment (MACE) and High Intensity Heavy Ion Accelerator (HIAF).
  • The development of a pulsed muon source at SHINE, opening new opportunities for precision muon physics.

Hosted at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) located at Minhang campus, this workshop will serve as a key meeting point to strengthen international collaboration in muon physics and explore strategies to push the frontiers of the field. The event will also include post-workshop visits to SHINE (Shanghai Hard X-ray FEL Facility), offering participants a chance to engage with top rated research facilities in China.

We look forward to insightful discussions and future collaborations as we build a stronger Europe-China-Japan alliance in muon physics.
